Special Council Meeting March 23, 2018
Mayor Robert Benson called the Special Session of Council to order on Friday, March 23, 2018. Members answering roll call were Derek Netzly, Robin Keith, Randy Hattery, Don Berkey and Pat Winkhart. Daniel Rouse was absent from meeting. Also present at the meeting were Chairperson of the Navarre-Bethlehem Community Park Board Vicki Owen-Merry, Navarre Zoning Inspector Jim Neely and Navarre Village Solicitor Attorney Terry Seeberger. Vicki Owen-Merry went over the bids that were submitted for the clean-up of the Navarre-Bethlehem Park. She explained why the Park Board felt that the estimate presented by Marcelli’s Lawn Care for $5500.00 was the best choice. She told Council that Bethlehem Township Trustees accepted Marcelli’s bid at the Township meeting on March 20, 2018. She advised they are able to stark next week with the ball fields. Terry Seeberger advised that we go back to Yoder regarding the damages and cost of the clean-up to the park. Mayor Benson advised council to discuss and act on request of the Navarre-Bethlehem Community Park Board. Ms. Keith moved to accept Marcelli’s Lawn Care bid of $5500.00 for cleaning up the Navarre-Bethlehem Community Park. Mr. Hattery seconded. Netzly yes, Keith yes, Hattery yes, Berkey yes, Winkhart yes. Five yes votes. Motion carried. MAYOR Mayor Benson reported that Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad has informed him that the crossing on Route 62 Southwest by the Civic Center will be closed for repairs from April 9th through April 14th. Ohio Department of Transportation will post rerouting of traffic. Mayor Benson stated that Navarre Zoning Board of Appeals has informed him that Scott Kirby can no longer serve on the board. Mayor Benson announced that a Thank You note was received from Ray Gallaher for the fruit basket he received from the Village of Navarre. Mr. Berkey moved, Mr. Netzly seconded to adjourn the meeting.
